Flexible, stainless steel scaling instruments used primarily as an adjunct to a prophy treatment for the removal of extrinsic stain and plaque. It may also be used as a splinting device, for removing amalgam overhangs, for breaking anterior contacts, and for removing flash and gross excess of composite material.
