Silver-diamine fluoride and potassium-iodide dental desensitizers immediately relieve tooth sensitivity and have a known antibacterial activity, which stops decay in teeth. Riva Star® Silver Diamine Fluoride conditions dentin, which may assist in tooth preservation, and increases bond strengths of glass ionomer dental cements when pretreating the tooth surface. The patented 2-step process results in an aesthetically pleasing appearance without staining the patient's teeth black. Its unique capsule system is color coded and easy to use, saving the clinician and patient time. The 10-Patient Kit contains 20 capsules (10 of Step 1: silver diamine fluoride, single dose and 10 of Step 2: potassium iodide, green, single dose) and 20 color-coded application brushes. The 2-Step Bottle Kit contains 1.5mL bottles for Steps 1 & 3 and a 3mL bottle of Riva Star® Step 2.
