Catalyzing Innovative Models for Emergency Preparedness & Response

Catalyzing Innovative Models for Emergency Preparedness & Response

Henry Schein Cares Foundation

In our interconnected world, a global health crisis, natural disaster or humanitarian crisis impacts us all. We partner with key stakeholders to catalyze innovative, global public-private collaborations focused on saving lives through improved pandemic and disaster preparedness, a more resilient and ethical supply chain, and a more effectively coordinated humanitarian response.

Private Sector Roundtable on Global Health Security

As Chair of the “Private Sector Roundtable on Global Health Security“ we are catalyzing industry and providing our expertise to improve prevention, detection, and response to health-related crises. We are committed to leveraging the expertise and resources across public and private sectors to improve global health — and represent the private sector as a Steering Committee member of the Global Health Security Agenda.

Pandemic Supply Chain Network

As the Private Sector Lead, we work to improve supply chain resilience through the Pandemic Supply Chain Network (PSCN), an innovative public-private partnership co-founded by Henry Schein in the wake of the Ebola outbreak in west Africa in 2014 that includes the World Health Organization (WHO), the World Economic Forum, the UN World Food Programme, the World Bank, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), UNICEF, and more than 100 private sector companies. Through its development of a platform for data sharing, market visibility, and operational coordination for critical healthcare products, the PSCN is making it easier for both governments and private sector partners to anticipate and respond to supply chain disruptions.

Private Sector Humanitarian Alliance

We partner with the Private Sector Humanitarian Alliance to organize, catalyze, and scale the resources, technology, and expertise of committed corporate entities to support humanitarian crisis response, envisioning a modern humanitarian architecture that includes a private sector seat at the table.

UBC

As a member of The Academy's initiative, we partner to increase the resiliency of healthcare and food supply chains in a post-COVID world. By convening an interdisciplinary group of experts, the initiative addresses the often-invisible weaknesses in supply chains, such as disruptions in essential goods and the human costs borne by essential workers. The focus is on exploring the social and ethical dimensions of supply chains, with discussions centered on healthcare and food security, ethical considerations, and national security. The goal is to produce actionable recommendations for government, industry, and non-profits.

Disaster Preparedness and Response

We have been deeply engaged in emergency preparedness and disaster relief for more than two decades. By leveraging our extensive network of relationships within and outside our organization, we work with non-governmental organizations, public and private sector partners to respond when disaster or humanitarian crises occur.

Prepare to Care Program

'Prepare to Care' program aims to strengthen disaster preparedness and response efforts worldwide.

Building on two decades of experience, the 'Prepare to Care' program embodies our forward-thinking approach to disaster response. Each year, Henry Schein will pre-position cash grants and essential supplies with trusted NGO partners. This initiative ensures that critical resources are strategically placed in the warehouses of our partners, ready to be deployed at a moment’s notice, thus enhancing our ability to respond immediately and effectively to emergencies.

Henry Schein's 'Prepare to Care' program marks a significant milestone in our disaster relief efforts. By integrating our expertise, resources, and longstanding partnerships, we are not only prepared to respond to crises but also to lead the way in global disaster preparedness. Together, we aim to make a tangible difference in the lives of those affected by disasters, ensuring that help is available when and where it is most needed.

Humanitarian Crisis

Ukraine Response

Henry Schein Cares and the Henry Schein Cares Foundation committed $1 million in cash and product donations toward the Ukraine humanitarian crisis by supporting our long-standing global humanitarian aid partners with the necessary medical supplies to aid health care professionals and civilians in need.

We partnered with HIAS to provide critical mental health and psychosocial support to refugees reaching 30,000 women and children in Poland, Moldova, Romania, and Hungary.

Tent Partnership for Refugees

To provide opportunities to collaborate with other companies and across sectors, Henry Schein is a member of The Tent Partnership for Refugees, a nonprofit that mobilizes the business community to improve the lives and livelihoods of refugees all over the world who often face barriers to accessing jobs in their new communities.
